DR PAUL THOMPSON

Works full-time joined the practice in September 2009 after being a principal GP in Kidderminster for 10 years. Specialist interests include chronic disease management, minor operations, undergraduate and post-graduate teaching and Rheumatology.

Joined the practice in 2014 and works part time. Specialises in female health and family planning. Fits contraceptive coils and implants, is the CQC lead for the practice and also a GP trainer.

DR DEAN EVANS

(Partner) MBChB Qualified in 1997, Birmingham, Diploma of Child Health 2000, MRCGP 2002.

Following the completion of my General Practice Training in 2002, I became a full-time partner in Kidderminster. I then joined Cleobury Mortimer Medical Centre as a part-time partner in 2020. Special interests include Diabetes and Men's Health. Practice lead for Learning Disabilities and I'm also a GP trainer.

Joined the practice April 2024. Specialist interest in care of the elderly. GP trainer and qualified in joint injections and minor surgery.

Nurses

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

The receptionists are responsible for ensuring that appointments, telephones and general office duties run smoothly. Please help them by being a ‘patient’ patient. They sometimes need to know the nature of your problem, but be assured that there are good reasons for this and the receptionists are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the doctors and nurses.

Community Nurses

The district nurses provide general nursing care in the community to the housebound. There is an on-call service for urgent & weekend visits. For appointments phone 01588 676323 or for Highley district patients please call 01746 711963. Please leave your phone number and they will contact you.

Health Visitors

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing. The Health Visitors can be contacted on 0333 3583654. There is also a chat health line 07520 635212. For the Tenbury Wells Area please contact Lisa on 01584 810643. The Health Visitor is in the surgery on a Wednesday afternoon 13.30 - 15.30. You do need to book an appointment for this clinic by ringing the above number.
